About Sean

Sean was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia and earned his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees at Penn State in the early 1990s.

After 19 years as a broadcast meteorologist in Roanoke and Lynchburg, he worked six years with scientists at Climate Central in Princeton, NJ, before coming home to Richmond in 2021 to work for the parent company of the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

He has served on multiple professional AMS committees and has taught courses in meteorology and climate science at the University of Lynchburg. After earning the Certified Digital Meteorologist designation, he started Sublette Weather and Consulting in 2024.
